Your dealership already emails itself reports: a nightly stock file, an aged-inventory export, a list of declined service work. A report feed turns one of those emails into something AutoBook can read.
You create a feed, we give you an address, and you send the report to that address. Every time a new copy arrives, we read it. There is nothing to export by hand and nothing to upload.
Feeds live in the Report files section of Settings → Connections, with every other system AutoBook talks to.
Every store's report is shaped differently. AutoBook reads the first file, works out what each column means, and writes that down as a proposed mapping, then stops. Nothing loads until someone confirms it. We would rather wait than guess wrong about your stock.
Each feed's row on Settings → Connections carries a chip saying where its mapping stands:
Who can see report feeds?
Anyone who can open Settings → Connections, which needs the integrations permission (administrators by default). There is no rep version of a store's forwarded exports.
Why can't I see or add a feed?
Report feeds sit on Settings → Connections, and that page needs the integrations permission. Ask your account owner to grant it.
How is this different from Provider feeds?
A provider feed (Provider feeds) is a lead source: a vendor such as AutoTrader emails new leads to its address and each one becomes a customer conversation (a Kia feed's Reporting also tells Kia what happened, for Sales conversations only). A report feed (Report files) is your own recurring report, a file that arrives by email and lands as rows. Different job, different section of the same Settings → Connections page.
My feed shows an address that isn't there.
A feed created before forwarding addresses existed has no address of its own, and its row says so. Create a new feed to get one.
Does each dealership need its own feed?
Yes. A feed belongs to one store and its rows land for that store, so a group forwards each store's report to its own address. An older feed made before feeds were per store can still show as All stores; new ones always name a store.
